S&K Showroom started in a small 39sqm store in Bree Street Johannesburg and has grown to 7 stores offering a unique retail shopping experience. In-store we have an exciting mix of the biggest sportswear brands in the world with limited releases. We have specialized ranges for the whole family.
S&K was founded in 1978 by Dave Devchand in the CBD of Johannesburg. His younger brother Fats then joined him and together they built up a reputation for stocking quality mens fashion in the early 80’s. By the mid 80’s Hip Hop culture was fast gaining traction. The brothers vision to cater and create for a younger and trendier market saw the birth of their second store in the famous Carlton Centre.
They decided to name the store ‘Street Gym’ which was fitting for product mix and forward thinking store design. Street Gym was one of the first stores to stock Nike and Air Jordan in Johannesburg, the store quickly gained popularity for its funky setup and great mix of branded sportswear. Today the family run business has 7 trendy stores in Johannesburg as well and an e-commerce platform.
